Public Announcement
Hey, everyone!
I know it has been a while since I said anything on Twitter or here on Itchio, so I'm going to make this FAQ/announcement/clarification/etc.
Most relevant topics:
- Is the game still getting updated?
Yes. Probably this week I'll release another public version (0.4 or 0.5, I'm still not sure). As it is described on the profile page, Those Days is a project which I only work on in my free time. I know it sounds weird but the public version requires more extra time from me than the Patreon version.
Why?
I have to make sure it is running ok and there are not many openings to misinterpreting (which is still happening A LOT in this current public version).
- Will it be free, in the end?
There will be a final public version. I don't think the game will have an exclusive final version, though. It is still too soon for me to say something definite about this. But yeah, there will be a final free version of Those Days. Don't worry.
- The game is too linear, no?
I know. Probably on the 1.0 version we'll have many ways of interacting with the current characters. And whenever that update is ready for the public, I'll release the free version. Patience!
- Patreon
I've received this suggestion via one of my patrons and I think it is a great one:
I've decided to turn off the donation option via Itch.io because it is not that fair. I know some of you do appreciate my hard work and sometimes make donations here, and I honestly love you for that. But PLEASE, if you want to support me, go to Patreon. It only costs $2 to $5 a month and you'll get the earliest version of the game (currently on the 0.7) PLUS your name on the credits. You will forever be known for supporting this game by getting into my Patreon page.
Topics with longer answers:
- Your feedback
Since the beginning of this project, I have continued to read the comments on this page every day so I could get more inspiration from all of you.
Your feedback has really made me simply focus a lot of energy on this, and I cannot express how grateful I am for it. I know I'm not constantly updating here, but I always tell this on Patreon: I really think this will end up looking incredible.
And the reason for that is not only because I think my art is getting better, or because this is my personal baby project, but because I see a lot of good feedback coming from different parts of the world, from people that genuinely want to make the game feel more comfortable to play. Know this: I consider everything that you guys say. Please, keep sharing your love for the game and its characters, and I'll make sure to do my best for you.
Nevertheless, some feedbacks simply upsets my soul. I'll tell you more about it in the criticism topic.
- Problems in the game: characters and game interpretation
The game still has a lot of things to get done. I know all of it because I keep it all organized. But nothing is more troublesome than the characters and their interpretation.
I know that I may have misled you all in the plot by putting this high leveled sexual tension on the current characters and, to be honest, that was kind of intentional.
I'm still currently adapting all of this, but the initial idea for this game was basically: you see a character and, if you want to have sex with them, the sexual tension will be so high that you can simply skip the sweet talk and get right into it. That is why this game is focused on visual art.
All of the characters are supposed to have this sex energy and it will all make more sense in the future versions of the game. There will be times that you'll choose to have sex. Some other times you'll have the option to watch other characters doing it. It is all a matter of time. They are all horny and open-minded, including the female ones. Yes. You read it correctly. Not only guys get turned on. Girls can also get horny AND have sex, surprisingly (for some).
- Criticism
For a couple of people (the minority of you guys), sex and sexual fantasies are completely weird in a lot of ways and I get that. People come to the internet from all around the world and absolutely no one has the same point of view on things. We're all adults here and all criticism is valid, as long as there is respect on all sides.
I don't consider myself weak at all regarding criticism, I'm very optimistic about life, people, and how they interact with each other (sexually too). However, sometimes the negative energy of some just gets to me and I simply decide to let go for a little bit. Just so I can get my mind safe from weird thoughts.
I said it before, and I'll say it again: the game is a work in progress and every comment is valid. Therefore, if you decide to do any criticism, first you have to try and respect the person on the other side so they can listen. Don't ever go to them with guns or knives in your hands. Organize your thoughts and politely talk to them. If you feel offended by the game in any way: criticize, but bring up arguments.
However, if you DECIDED to just hate the game, I can't do much about that. I can just tell you that I'm sorry and ask you to move on.
I'm publicly venting about this after long weeks of reflection because I got some terrible comments (which I deleted) about the game previously. It affected everything in my personal life, and this is why I decided to avoid getting into Itch.io every day.
I'm feeling much better now, for those who were worried. I've got incredible supporters here and on Patreon who don't even know me in real life but are constantly showering me with love and positive vibes. I honestly wish I could share my love with you all with that same intensity! ♥
In conclusion to all of this, cut people some slack, we're all humans, even on the internet. If I see any comment that borders on toxicity or hate, I'll simply delete it from now on.
So, yeah! Respect people, stay safe and stay horny.
